Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the Unified Detection team in Córdoba, Argentina. You will build and deploy large-scale threat detection services, using Python or Golang, in a distributed cloud environment.

You’ll work on features across the detection system, participate in code reviews, and grow with a strong engineering culture while delivering high-quality software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Information Systems.
• 4+ years of software development experience, with Python or Golang.
• Experience with distributed systems and cloud environments (AWS, Azure or similar).
• Experience with containerized workloads (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with observability/monitoring tools (Grafana, Kibana).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, secure coding practices, and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to moderately complex features and components within the detection system.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code and improve the codebase.
• Take ownership of small features or components with emphasis on quality and testing.
• Work with minimal supervision on routine tasks and seek guidance when needed.
• Identify blockers and communicate risks early within timelines.
• Collaborate with teammates and participate in code reviews and retrospectives.
