Job summary

Proofpoint is looking for a Software Engineer III to join our Unified Detection team in Córdoba, Argentina. You will build and deploy large-scale threat detection services, writing clean, well-tested code and growing your expertise within a strong engineering culture.

You’ll work on distributed cloud-based detection, contribute to code reviews, and engage in testing, monitoring, and deployment. The role offers a fast-paced environment with growth opportunities across email, cloud, and SaaS

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of software development experience with Python or Golang.
• Experience with distributed systems, cloud environments, and containerized workloads.
• Experience with observability, monitoring tools, RESTful APIs, and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to moderately complex features and components for the detection system.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code and improve the codebase.
• Take ownership of smaller features with thorough testing.
• Work with minimal supervision on routine tasks and seek guidance when needed.
• Anticipate blockers, communicate risks, and collaborate to address them within timelines.
• Collaborate with teammates and contribute constructively to reviews and discussions.
• Participate in code reviews and retrospectives, applying feedback with a growth mindset.
