Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Software Engineer III in Córdoba, Argentina to join our Unified Detection team, building and deploying large-scale threat detection services. You will write clean, efficient code and own smaller features, contributing to services used across our cybersecurity product offerings.

You will work with distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS/Azure), gain exposure to observability tools, and collaborate with a global team to deliver high-quality, well-tested outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems (or equivalent practical experience).
• 4+ years of experience developing software, with growing proficiency in Python or Golang.
• Experience working with distributed systems, cloud environments (AWS, Azure or similar), and containerized workloads (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with observability or monitoring tools (Grafana, Kibana, or similar), preferred.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, secure coding foundations, and automated testing practices.
• Curiosity about cybersecurity, malware analysis, or threat detection is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to moderately complex features and components, ensuring your work integrates seamlessly into the larger detection system.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code – leave the codebase better than you found it.
• Begin taking ownership of smaller features or components, ensuring quality through thorough testing.
• Work with minimal supervision on routine tasks, and proactively seek guidance when facing unfamiliar challenges.
• Anticipate potential blockers, communicate risks early, and collaborate with the team to address them within established timelines.
• Collaborate well with teammates – listen actively, incorporate feedback, and contribute constructively to reviews and discussions.
• Actively participate in code reviews and retrospectives, providing constructive input and implementing feedback with a growth mindset.
