Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Software Engineer III to join our Unified Detection team in Córdoba, Argentina. You will build and deploy large-scale threat detection services, focusing on secure, well-tested code and scalable architectures.

You'll collaborate with a fast-paced engineering culture, own features from design to delivery, and grow your skills alongside experienced engineers in a global cybersecurity company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of software development experience with Python or Golang.
• Experience with distributed systems, cloud environments (AWS/Azure or similar), and containerized workloads (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with observability/monitoring tools (Grafana, Kibana or similar), preferred.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, secure coding foundations, and automated testing practices.
• Curiosity about cybersecurity, malware analysis, or threat detection is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to moderately complex features and components, ensuring integration into the larger detection system.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code and conduct thorough testing.
• Take ownership of smaller features or components and ensure quality through testing.
• Work with minimal supervision on routine tasks and seek guidance when needed.
• Anticipate blockers, communicate risks early, and collaborate to address them within timelines.
• Collaborate with teammates, listen, incorporate feedback, and participate in reviews.
