Nortal is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build and scale distributed systems in Java and Python. You will own features end-to-end, work with AI-enabled workflows, and collaborate with a fast-moving team to deliver robust, production-grade services.

Role emphasizes ownership, architecture input, and the ability to thrive in startup-like environments while maintaining high quality and performance standards. This is a remote-friendly role supporting LATAM time zones.

Formación

• 8+ years of software/backend experience.
• 5+ years of Python experience building production systems.
• Strong Java proficiency.
• Hands-on AI/LLM-based development experience helpful.
• Experience with distributed systems, databases, queues and data pipelines.
• Production expertise with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven ownership mindset in fast-paced startups/scale-ups.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build and maintain scalable backend services in Java and Python.
