Job summary

Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team in a hybrid role. You will own reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines, build AWS-first cloud infrastructure, and craft CI/CD pipelines for data products.

You will work across data engineers and security teams, shaping observability, security, and governance. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in DevOps/platform engineering and hands-on data engineering experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE.
• Hands-on data engineering experience (2+ years) is required.
• Deep AWS core services experience (S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch).
• Proficiency with IaC tools and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data infra.
• Build and manage AWS-based infrastructure with IaC tools.
• Own observability stack for data pipelines and alerting.
• Develop DataOps tooling and reusable templates.
• Lead incident response and post-mortems for outages.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture decisions.
