Job summary

Darwoft is hiring a Senior/Staff Software Engineer (AI-native) to join a remote LATAM team building a modern transaction platform for M&A using Claude Code, Codex, and AI agents. You will guide architecture, navigate a large codebase, and accelerate delivery while maintaining quality.

The role focuses on production software engineering rather than ML training, with ownership of complex systems and a product-minded approach. Join a remote-first culture that values learning and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Strong production software experience.
• Excellent software fundamentals: architecture, design, debugging, testing, maintainability.
• Experience with large/complex codebases.
• Backend or full-stack with modern frameworks.
• Experience building web apps and SaaS products.
• Strong APIs, architecture, data modeling, and distributed systems knowledge.
• Relational databases and production data environments.
• Automated testing and modern SDLC practices.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, CI/CD, deployments, and production ops.
• Ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions with ownership.

Responsibilities

• Navigate and evolve a large production codebase.
• Design and implement new capabilities across a complex SaaS platform.
• Make pragmatic architectural decisions as the product scales.
• Identify debt, risks, reliability issues, and improvements.
• Use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, and similar AI agents throughout development.
• Leverage AI to explore codebases, generate/refactor code, test, and accelerate delivery.
• Build and evolve backend services, APIs, data models, and workflows.
• Contribute across the stack when needed.
• Strengthen testing, observability, reliability, and production readiness.
• Improve workflows, tooling, automation, and engineering practices.
• Troubleshoot cross-layer issues (app, data, infra).
• Balance speed with long-term maintainability.
• Work with product leadership to translate problems into tech solutions.
• Help a small team achieve greater leverage via AI-assisted engineering.
