Job summary

South Offices is seeking an experienced accounting professional to provide specialized Level 2 support for complex customer inquiries related to US accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and payroll.

The ideal candidate has strong accounting and tax expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to independently investigate and resolve complex issues. This remote role requires flexible coverage within 8:00 AM-8:00 PM ET with shifts overlapping US business hours.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting experience, US accounting and taxation exposure.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, tax return review, reconciliations, payroll, reporting.
• Experience handling complex tax inquiries and customer-facing support.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to explain complex topics to nontechnical customers.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment with evolving workflows.
• Ability to learn proprietary platforms and AI-assisted workflows.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 support for US accounting, tax, payroll inquiries.
• Investigate and resolve escalated accounting and tax tickets.
• Review and troubleshoot bookkeeping discrepancies and transactions.
• Assist customers with tax-related inquiries and notices.
• Support payroll questions, setup, and processing issues.
• Document resolutions and maintain accurate customer records.
• Identify recurring issues and improve workflows and knowledge resources.
• Learn new internal systems as the client moves away from Zendesk.
• Work with AI-assisted workflows.
