Whizz is seeking an experienced Level 2 Tax & Accounting Support Specialist to provide specialized assistance on complex US accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and payroll inquiries. The role demands strong accounting judgment, effective communication, and the ability to work independently across US business hours, with staggered shifts to align ET coverage.

The ideal candidate holds CPA or EA credentials or is pursuing them, with proven experience in US tax practices and payroll tooling.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional accounting experience with exposure to US accounting and taxation.
• Strong working knowledge of bookkeeping, tax return review, account reconciliations, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Independent problem-solving skills and ability to explain complex topics to nontechnical customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized Level 2 support for complex US customer accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and payroll inquiries.
• Investigate and resolve escalated accounting and tax support tickets.
• Review and troubleshoot bookkeeping discrepancies, reconciliations, and accounting transactions.
• Assist customers with tax-related inquiries, notices, filing status questions, and tax return questions within scope.
• Support payroll questions, setup, processing issues, and troubleshooting.
• Communicate findings clearly via Zendesk, email-style responses, and scheduled calls.
• Independently investigate issues, identify root causes, and coordinate with internal specialists.
