Job summary

Goodwork is seeking a Remote Staff Accountant / Tax Professional for a U.S. firm with Eastern Time hours. This fully remote role supports a U.S.-based client and involves preparing financial statements, journal entries, and tax returns.

You will work with a U.S.-based team to ensure accurate month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and compliance with U.S. GAAP, while communicating effectively in English and managing independent work from a home office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally with U.S.-based clients.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general tax concepts.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
• Able to work U.S. Eastern Time business hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
• Record and review adjusting journal entries
• Support preparation of U.S. individual and business tax returns
• Perform account reconciliations and analyze financial information
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Collaborate closely with the U.S.-based team for review and sign-off
