Job summary

Goodwork is seeking a Remote Staff Accountant / Tax Professional to join a U.S. public accounting firm. This role supports U.S.-based clients and requires working hours aligned with U.S. Eastern Time.

Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, tax returns, and assisting with month-end and year-end close, while collaborating with the U.S.-based team. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of accounting experience and strong English skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally supporting U.S.-based clients.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general tax preparation concepts.
• Strong written and spoken English.
• Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
• Able to work U.S. Eastern Time business hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Record and review adjusting journal entries.
• Support preparation of U.S. individual and business tax returns.
• Perform account reconciliations and analyze financial information.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Collaborate with the U.S.-based team for review and sign-off.
