Job summary

Hire Hangar, Inc. is seeking a Technical SEO Lead for a fully remote role with a U.S.-based higher education marketing agency.

You will lead technical SEO across a portfolio of client accounts, run audits, and write developer-ready specs to drive fixes, while building Claude-based tools to automate audits, reporting, QA, and content production. The role requires hands-on experience with GSC, GA4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs/Semrush, and WordPress, plus strong written communication to translate

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SEO, with at least 3 focused on technical SEO, ideally at an agency or across multiple sites
• Hands-on experience with Claude, building agents and AI-assisted workflows
• Clear written communication and ability to spec fixes and recommendations for clients

Responsibilities

• Lead technical SEO across client accounts
• Run technical audits covering crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, structured data, redirects, and broken links
• Prioritize issues by impact and effort and defend calls
• Write dev-ready specs for web developers and client teams and verify fixes
• Handle light WordPress implementation: titles, meta descriptions, redirects, and schema via Yoast or Rank Math
• Monitor Google Search Console and GA4 for drops, errors, indexing issues
• Own technical readiness for AI search (AEO/GEO) and create scalable systems for SEO services
• Design and build Claude-based tools, agents, and workflows for audits, prioritization, reporting, and QA
• Build content production systems turning briefs into near-publish-ready drafts
• Document systems, train team, and measure time saved or results improved
• Support team and client success as go-to technical resource
• Join client calls for expert explanation with SEO Lead leading the conversation
• Evaluate emerging search technologies and recommend new tools and workflows
