Job summary

Unknown is seeking a Technical SEO Lead to oversee technical SEO across a portfolio of higher education client accounts. You will run audits, develop developer-ready specs, and ensure fixes are released and verified.

The role includes building Claude-based tools and workflows to automate audits, QA, and content production, reducing manual effort across multiple sites. You will monitor Search Console and GA4, own AI-ready strategies for search, and design scalable systems that empower the team

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SEO with at least 3 focused on technical SEO
• Proven ability to uncover high-impact issues and drive fixes
• Hands-on with GSC, GA4, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs or Semrush
• Strong WordPress knowledge for implementing fixes and schema

Responsibilities

• Lead technical SEO across client accounts
• Run technical audits covering crawlability, indexation, architecture, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, structured data, redirects, broken links
• Prioritize issues by impact and effort, defend calls
• Write dev-ready specs and follow fixes through to verification
• Handle light WordPress tasks: titles, meta, redirects, schema via Yoast/Rank Math
• Monitor GSC and GA4 to detect drops and indexing problems early
• Own technical readiness for AI search (AEO/GEO) and structured data
• Build scalable SEO systems and Claude-based tools for audits, reporting, QA
• Create content production systems from briefs to draft-ready outputs
• Translate standards into reusable team systems
• Integrate Search Console, GA4, crawl exports, Ahrefs/Semrush into workflows
• Document systems, train team, measure time saved and results
• Support client success and be the go-to technical resource
• Join client calls to explain deep technical topics with the SEO Lead
• Evaluate emerging search tech and recommend tools/processes
