Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Database Administrator to manage, secure, and tune high-availability production databases, working closely with engineering teams. This hands-on DBA role focuses on database administration, performance, security, and reliability—not Data Engineering.

The position requires 3–4 years of hands-on DBA experience, MS SQL Server & Aurora PostgreSQL expertise, AWS RDS/Aurora, PowerShell or Python, Terraform, Confluent Kafka, and upper-intermediate English.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of hands-on DBA experience.
• Experience with MS SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS, especially RDS and Aurora.
• Scripting with PowerShell or Python.
• Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Kafka (Confluent Kafka) administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience in performance tuning and high-availability production systems.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high availability of production database systems and ensure strong performance.
• Plan and execute disaster recovery to prevent data loss.
• Secure databases with access control and security best practices.
• Analyze and tune database performance and diagnose issues.
• Collaborate with engineers on system design and performance tuning.
• Hands-on administration of data systems supporting the website.
• Stay composed under pressure in a highly technical environment.
