AgileEngine is seeking a Database Administrator to manage, secure, and tune high-availability production databases in close collaboration with engineering teams. This hands-on role emphasizes database administration, performance, security, and reliability, rather than data engineering.

Applicants should have 3–4 years of hands-on DBA experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL, plus PowerShell or Python, Terraform, Confluent Kafka, and AWS RDS/Aurora.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of hands-on DBA experience.
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL.
• Experience with AWS, especially RDS and Aurora.
• Programming experience with PowerShell or Python.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Experience with Kafka (Confluent Kafka).
• Experience with performance tuning, high availability and disaster recovery.
• Upper-intermediate English level.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high availability of production database systems.
• Plan for and carry out disaster recovery with zero data loss.
• Keep database systems secure, including access control and security protocols.
• Analyze and tune database performance and diagnose issues.
• Collaborate with engineers on system design and performance tuning.
• Operate hands-on in a technical environment managing data systems for the website.
• Stay composed under pressure in stressful situations.
