Job summary

Tether is seeking an Automation QA Engineer to own automation for desktop and mobile apps, while also performing manual testing. You will build reliable test suites, integrate them into CI/CD, and work with developers to improve testability and coverage.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in QA automation, strong experience with Playwright, WebdriverIO, Appium, and testing Electron or React Native apps on real devices, plus a knack for evaluating AI-assisted QA tools.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in QA automation, plus hands-on manual and exploratory testing experience.
• Experience running tests in CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
• Hands-on experience with Playwright for desktop or web, and WebdriverIO + Appium for mobile.
• Experience testing Electron and/or React Native apps, including on real iOS and Android devices.
• Experience using AI tools in QA and critically reviewing their output. Testing AI-powered applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain desktop and mobile test automation for critical user flows.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines and keep them fast and reliable.
• Investigate failures, fix flaky tests, and manage test data and environments
• Report clear, reproducible bugs and verify fixes
• Work with developers and product on testability and acceptance criteria
• Perform hands-on functional, exploratory, and regression testing of new features
• Choose manual or automated coverage based on risk; maintain regression suites.
