Remotejobsone is seeking an experienced Level 2 Tax & Accounting Support Specialist to provide expert assistance for US accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and payroll inquiries in a remote, international setting.

The role requires genuine accounting judgment, strong English communication, and the ability to independently investigate and resolve complex issues within evolving workflows and AI-assisted processes.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting experience with US accounting and taxation.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping, tax return reviews, reconciliations, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Experience handling complex tax and accounting inquiries and customer-facing financial support.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Able to explain complex accounting and tax topics to non-technical customers.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment with evolving workflows.
• Ability to learn proprietary platforms and AI-assisted workflows.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 support for complex US accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and payroll inquiries.
• Investigate and resolve escalated accounting and tax support tickets.
• Review and troubleshoot bookkeeping discrepancies, reconciliations, and transactions.
• Assist customers with tax notices, filing status questions, and related inquiries.
• Support payroll questions, setup, processing issues, and troubleshooting.
• Communicate technical findings via Zendesk, email-style responses, and scheduled calls.
• Independently investigate issues, identify root causes, and coordinate with specialists.
• Document resolutions and maintain accurate customer records.
• Identify recurring issues and improve workflows and knowledge resources.
• Adapt to new internal systems as the client transitions away from Zendesk.
• Learn and work with proprietary platforms and AI-assisted workflows.
