Job summary

Bluelight Consulting, LLC is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Marketing-oriented) for a remote role with a fast-growing education-focused marketing agency. You will own end-to-end data pipelines, from ad platforms and CRM to a centralized BigQuery warehouse, and you will build modular dbt/Dataform transformations to feed Looker Studio dashboards and automated reports.

You bring 5+ years in data engineering, strong SQL and BigQuery experience, and proficiency in Python and CRM integrations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on data engineering experience, ideally in marketing or agency environments.
• Strong experience configuring datastreams, transformations, and destinations in Adverity or comparable ETL platforms.
• Intermediate to advanced SQL, with BigQuery transformation, partitioning, and modeling.
• Expertise in dbt or Dataform with modular, version-controlled pipelines.
• Python proficiency for custom API connections and automation.
• CRM data flows and integrations (Slate, Salesforce, HubSpot).
• Understanding of marketing metrics (ROAS, CPA, CAC) and paid platform schemas.

Responsibilities

• Own data ingestion & pipeline architecture from paid media platforms into Adverity and warehouse.
• Own CRM integration to ensure lead and enrollment data flow into the warehouse.
• Own the data warehouse in BigQuery, designing efficient schemas and managing partitioning to optimize costs.
• Own transformation & mapping with dbt/Dataform pipelines and standardized naming.
• Own CI/CD & data segregation with GitHub Actions and automated testing.
• Enable the reporting layer by creating clean data views for Looker Studio and Google Sheets reports.
• Drive data quality by monitoring pipelines, troubleshooting, and alerting leadership.
