Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Datacenter Operations professional to identify and implement hardware and network improvements in data center environments. The role entails coaching technicians, validating cabling and connectivity, and ensuring adherence to SOPs and change control processes.

You will collaborate with project teams and colocation partners to validate installations, coordinate utility requirements, and maintain high availability across critical infrastructure.

• Identifies opportunities for other team members to replace or upgrade server components and main hardware to ensure lifecycle performance.

Responsibilities

• Datacenter Services Operations-Break/Fix and Hardware Maintenance: Identifies opportunities for other team members to work with servers and main hardware to ensure efficient performance for its entire lifecycle.
• Guides and coaches less experienced technicians on best practices for power distribution units and replacement hardware, removing and troubleshooting hardware without disturbing critical infrastructure when needed.
• Datacenter Services Operations-Network Configuration, Installation, and Augmentation: Guides and instructs less experienced technicians on best practices for implementing designed network communications and solutions, signing off on client configurations within environments.
• Validates cabling, checking network environment build and connectivity is established, verifying that devices are connected and error free.
• Technical Support and Trouble Shooting: Monitors and assigns work in ticketing environment, mentoring less experienced technicians or implementing technical solutions to enhance and/or troubleshoot the system within SLAs.
• Safety and Compliance-Safety, Security, Compliance, and Documentation: Oversees adherence to SOPs/MOPs, maintains site rules compliance, and signs off within data center and/or customer site environments.
• Continuous Improvement: Trains advanced fix and repair techniques that align with corporate objectives and adheres to SOPs/MOPs for Data Center Change Control; identifies trends and escalates issues.
