Qualifications

• Experience preparing immigration applications is preferred but not required.
• Commitment to helping immigrants secure their future in the United States through asylum.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Tech-focused skills and eagerness to learn new online systems and procedures.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathetic and able to communicate with clients under significant stress.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to perform at a high level with minimal supervision.
• Able to keep track of tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and other staff in serving clients.
• Serve as the firm’s main point of contact with clients, supporting attorneys and paralegals in engaging clients throughout the representation.
• Surface client questions and concerns to attorneys and paralegals, and relay guidance back to clients clearly.
• Return phone calls and reply to emails from clients and potential clients.
• Provide status updates so clients understand where their case stands and what comes next.
• Set clear expectations with clients about timelines and required actions at each stage.
• Coordinate with clients to complete tasks necessary for case development.
• Proactively identify disengaged or at-risk clients and intervene early.
• Manage case logistics: scheduling appointments and reminders, following up with clients.
• Proactively manage cases to ensure deadlines are met.
• Maintain tracking systems to prevent clients from falling through the cracks.
• Compile and submit filings to immigration agencies.
• Perform administrative tasks as assigned.
• Contribute to development and improvement of company protocols.
