Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a part-time Data Engineering & Infrastructure Lead to audit AWS architecture, CI/CD processes, and ETL pipeline decisions in an advisory capacity. You will mentor the team on engineering standards, review MLOps pipelines, and shape the technical direction for future builds.

The role emphasizes cost governance and AI-assisted development workflows. The position offers flextime with options for remote work and engagement with Fortune 500 clients.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on AWS experience (ECS/Fargate, ECR, RDS, S3, SageMaker).
• Fluency in Infrastructure-as-code, Terraform.
• Proven track record designing/auditing CI/CD pipelines and SDLC governance.
• Strong data engineering depth for ETL/ingestion architecture decisions.
• Experience evaluating AI-assisted development (Claude Code) from quality/cost-governance.
• Comfortable in a part-time advisory capacity (50% to 25%).

Responsibilities

• Audit AWS architecture across live apps, including ECS/ECR, RDS, S3, VPC, CloudFront, SageMaker-based pipelines.
• Review CI/CD processes and SDLC governance, suggesting environment separation and release gating.
• Assess Claude Code usage for PR generation, automated reviews, and cost management.
• Provide early technical opinions on ETL/data-ingestion architectures (ELT tooling vs. custom).
• Mentor infrastructure build team on AWS, DevOps, CI/CD, and data engineering practices.
• Outline recommendations and technical direction from audits.
• Present findings and risk assessments to leadership.
