AgileEngine is seeking a part-time Data Engineering & Infrastructure Lead to audit AWS architecture, CI/CD processes, and ETL decisions in an advisory role. You will weigh tooling vs custom builds, review SageMaker-based pipelines, and mentor the team on engineering standards.

You’ll evaluate AI-assisted development workflows and provide strategic recommendations to leadership. The role emphasizes part-time advisory capacity (50% to 25%), with a focus on AWS, DevOps, data engineering, and cost

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on AWS experience: ECS/Fargate, ECR, RDS (Postgres), S3, SageMaker, EventBridge, VPC/ALB/CloudFront, IAM.
• Terraform IaC experience.
• Proven CI/CD and SDLC governance track record (schema/version control, env separation, release gating).
• Strong data engineering depth for ETL/ingestion architecture (managed vs. custom).
• Experience evaluating AI-assisted / LLM-assisted workflows (Claude Code) for quality and cost.
• Part-time advisory capacity (50% to 25%).

Responsibilities

• Audit the AWS architecture across live apps (ECS/ECR, RDS, S3, VPC, CloudFront, SageMaker).
• Review CI/CD and SDLC governance; suggest environment separation and release gating.
• Evaluate Claude Code usage for code quality and cost management.
• Provide opinions on ETL/ data-ingestion pipeline design (managed vs custom).
• Mentor the infra build team in AWS, DevOps, CI/CD, and data practices.
• Set recommendations and direction based on audit findings for leadership.
