Job description

The Business Development manager is responsible for driving growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities while nurturing and expanding existing customer accounts and relationships. The role focuses on developing strategic partnerships, understanding market trends and competitive landscape, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance the company's position. The position plays a crucial role in achieving sales targets and contributing to the overall growth of the business.

What You'll Do

Identify and Cultivate New Business Opportunities:

  1. Develop and manage a pipeline of potential clients, proactively seeking opportunities to expand the company's market presence in road freight, air freight, express, and last-mile delivery.

  2. Qualify leads generated from marketing campaigns and convert them into actionable sales opportunities.

  3. Conduct outreach to potential clients through targeted cold calls and personalized emails, effectively presenting our offerings.

Maintain a Targeted Prospect List:

  1. Continuously update and prioritize an active list of new business prospects to strategically engage with our services and solutions.

  2. Set up meetings with prospective clients, facilitating discussions that lead to new business.

Conduct Sales Outreach:

  1. Present our company and its value proposition to potential clients, building interest and rapport.

  2. Understand market dynamics and identify client needs, recommending tailored product solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.

Prepare Financial and Data Analysis:

  1. Stay informed about new products, services, and pricing/payment plans to ensure competitive offerings.

  2. Report to the Head of Sales on weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales performance, providing insights and progress updates.

Nurture Existing Client Relationships:

  1. Build long-term trusting relationships with clients through regular communication and exceptional service.

Miscellaneous:

  1. Execute any ad hoc tasks as delegated by the Line Manager to support the broader sales strategy.


Qualifications :

Education and Certification

  1. Bachelor's in Business Administration, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

  1. Experience with CRM platforms (such as HubSpot) to manage client relationships and track sales activities effectively.

  2. Exceptional negotiation skills to persuade stakeholders and influence decisions to secure profitable business deals.

  3. Confident in delivering engaging presentations to diverse audiences.

  4. Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint to analyze and present data and solutions.

  5. Proven track record of closing business deals while maintaining strong relationships with clients and partners.

  6. Dedicated to understanding client needs and fostering collaboration within teams to deliver exceptional service.

  7. Competent in using Microsoft Office.

  8. Strong organizational skills.

  9. Solid understanding of financial planning principles and practices.

  10. Excellent ability to compile and present reports on sales performance, market insights, and strategic recommendations.

Experience

  1. At least 5 years of proven work experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive, or similar role.

  2. Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques.

  3. Track record of achieving sales quotas.
