Job summary
A governmental agency for infrastructure management in Ras Al Khaimah seeks an experienced manager to oversee maintenance operations for road infrastructure and street lighting. The role includes supervising construction, ensuring technical standards are met, and managing departmental budgets. Ideal candidates will have 10-15 years of experience in road maintenance and relevant engineering certifications, along with strong leadership and project management skills.
Qualifications
- 10-15 years in road maintenance or civil works.
- Experience in Government or municipal road management.
- Accredited engineering or project management certifications.
Responsibilities
- Supervise road works and sidewalk painting operations.
- Oversee asphalt road maintenance and installation of speed bumps.
- Ensure compliance with technical specifications for road and lighting projects.
Skills
Education
Responsible for leading and overseeing all maintenance operations related to road infrastructure and street lighting within the jurisdiction. The role involves supervising construction and repair works, ensuring compliance with technical standards, managing departmental planning and budgeting, and coordinating with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety in road operations and maintenance.
- Supervise the execution of road works, including kerbstone and interlock installation.
- Oversee road sidewalk painting operations.
- Supervise asphalt road maintenance, including surface repairs and installation of speed bumps, following the proposed plans.
- Supervise the installation of street lighting bases and poles.
- Ensure all technical specifications are met for road and lighting projects. Monitor quality, compliance with contract terms, and alignment with operational plans.
- Develop the department’s annual budget and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
- Prepare and oversee the execution of the department’s strategic and executive plans.
- Provide leadership to departmental staff, monitor day-to-day operations, and promote a high-performance culture
Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering / master's degree or equivalent professional credentials
Experience: 10–15 years in road maintenance, infrastructure, or civil works Government or municipal road management experience
Certifications: Accredited engineering or project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PE)
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent
