Job summary
A leading company is seeking a Mid-level to senior legal counsel to provide expert legal advice on dispute resolution. Responsibilities include managing litigation, preparing cases, and advising on legal strategy for a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have experience from a prestigious law firm, along with exceptional planning and organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
Qualifications
- Experience with a leading international law firm on contentious matters.
- Ability to manage casefiles, claims, and litigation.
- Experience of Dubai Courts, LAD, Rent Dispute Settlement Centre.
- Fluent in English and Arabic (verbal and written).
Responsibilities
- Advise on dispute resolution matters and manage claims.
- Investigate cases and advise on legal action.
- Prepare court documents and maintain accurate case files.
- Negotiate cases and assist with non-contentious matters.
Skills
- Advise either as a claimant or a defendant in cases.
- Investigate the details of a case and advise on whether to file a lawsuit on the company's behalf or gather evidence to defend against a lawsuit.
- Interview witnesses, experts and other parties, read and prepare depositions, analyse any pertinent information on disputes. Working with team members to prepare comprehensive briefs.
- Preparing all documents required to file cases, including briefs and court documents.
- Researching case law, statutes and statutory interpretation.
- Maintaining accurate case files, notes and reports.
- Negotiating cases.
- Managing external counsel.
- Assist with non-contentious matters.
- High standard of advice provided and recommendations made
- Drafting briefs, pleadings and statements
- Analysing and running cases (contentious matters)
- Highly organised with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with a leading international law firm on contentious matters
- Ability to manage casefiles, claims and litigation
- Experience of Dubai Courts, LAD, Rent Dispute Settlement Centre
- Advocacy skills an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent planning and organising skills
- Excellent time and stress management skills
- Fluent in English and Arabic (verbal and written)
