Job summary
A financial services firm in Sharjah is seeking a Junior Accountant to manage cash receipts, support invoicing and collections for the Middle East, and handle accounts payable. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, coupled with 2-3 years of experience and proficiency in accounting software. This role involves compliance with accounting standards, preparing for audits, and assisting with administrative logistics. A proactive and detail-oriented approach is essential.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of accounting experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain daily cash receipts activity and recording.
- Support accounts receivable management for the Middle East region.
- Handle accounts payable related set up and preparation for payments.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Provide support for strategic decision-making through transaction analysis.
- Support compliance with relevant accounting standards and laws.
- Prepare for internal and external audits as needed.
- Assist in bank guarantee applications and liaising with customers.
Skills
Education
- Maintain daily cash receipts activity and recording, inclusive of reconciliations
- Support accounts receivable management, including invoicing and collections, for Middle East region
- Handle accounts payable related set up, preparation for payments as well as related reconciliations
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Provide support for strategic decision-making through transaction analysis / trends
- Support compliance with relevant accounting standards, laws and regulations (i.e. taxes and certificates)
- Prepare, assist and liaise with auditors related to internal and external audits as needed
- Assist in preparing bank guarantee applications and liaising with customers for issuance.
- Assist in coordinating administrative and logistics requirements to PRO consultancy and logistic companies.
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferred.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles
- Intermediate proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems – quick learner
- Intermediate to advanced excel skills preferred
