Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, delivery, and review of Foundation Subjects within Year 6.
• Support curriculum progression across areas such as Geography, History, Art, Design Technology, Computing, Music, and related enrichment subjects.
• Ensure lessons are challenging, engaging, inclusive, and aligned with whole-school curriculum priorities.
• Work closely with KS2 leadership to strengthen cross-curricular links and improve learning consistency across the phase.
• Deliver high-quality classroom teaching that supports academic progress, curiosity, creativity, and independent learning.
• Use assessment data effectively to monitor pupil progress, identify gaps, and raise attainment.
• Model strong classroom practice and share practical teaching strategies with colleagues.
• Support and mentor KS2 teachers to promote consistency in teaching standards and curriculum delivery.
• Contribute to curriculum development meetings, subject planning reviews, and wider school improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with subject leads to enhance Foundation Subject provision and student learning experiences.
• Lead or support enrichment activities, educational trips, school events, and project-based learning opportunities.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement, presentation, safeguarding, and student wellbeing.

Ideal Profile

• Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Strong KS2 teaching experience, ideally in Year 5 or Year 6.
• Proven record of supporting high pupil progress, attainment, and classroom outcomes.
• Experience teaching or leading Foundation Subjects within a primary or upper primary setting.
• Previous curriculum or subject leadership experience is desirable.
• Experience in an international school or UK curriculum school is an advantage.
• Understanding of transition support from primary to secondary education is preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, organisation, and mentoring skills.
• Ability to inspire pupils through creative, challenging, and well-structured learning.
