An exciting opportunity for a Year 6 Foundation Subjects Teacher in Dubai, UAE. The role focuses on delivering outstanding teaching across KS2 foundation subjects while leading curriculum development, strengthening academic progress, and preparing students for successful transition to secondary education.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, delivery, and evaluation of Foundation Subjects within Year 6, including Geography, History, Art, DT, Computing, and Music where applicable.
• Ensure curriculum progression, challenge, and alignment with whole‑school priorities and learning standards.
• Deliver high‑quality, engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners across KS2.
• Use assessment data effectively to monitor student progress, raise attainment, and provide timely intervention.
• Model excellent classroom practice and share effective teaching strategies across the phase.
• Work closely with KS2 leadership to strengthen cross‑curricular learning and enrichment opportunities.
• Support and mentor colleagues to maintain consistency in teaching quality and classroom expectations.
• Contribute to curriculum development meetings and whole‑school academic improvement initiatives.
• Promote creativity, critical thinking, and independent learning across foundation subjects.
• Lead or support enrichment activities, school events, educational trips, and transition programmes.
• Maintain high standards for behaviour, achievement, safeguarding, and student wellbeing.

Ideal Profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with recognised teaching credentials.
• Strong KS2 teaching experience, ideally within Year 5 or Year 6.
• Proven record of strong pupil progress and excellent academic outcomes.
• Experience teaching and leading Foundation Subjects within a primary curriculum setting.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
• Strong classroom management and curriculum planning abilities.
• Previous curriculum or subject leadership experience is highly desirable.
• Experience within an international or UK curriculum school is an advantage.
• Experience preparing students for successful transition to secondary education is preferred.
