Job summary

Raffles the Palm Dubai is seeking a dynamic Waiter/Waitress to deliver thoughtful and discreet service to hotel guests in a luxury setting. You will present menus, explain specials and maintain a polished work environment.

The role requires English proficiency, a minimum of 1 year F&B serving experience, cash handling skills, and a collaborative spirit to support the team during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
• Experience in customer-facing roles is essential.
• Cash handling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and courteous F&B service to guests.
• Read daily events and acknowledge VIP arrivals.
• Know all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods, and relay this information to guests politely.
• Present children’s menus when appropriate and describe specials.
• Serve and clear food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional manner.
• Utilise the POS system to ring up sales, print checks, close checks and complete cash-out procedures.
• Carry trays, bus and reset tables with linen, china, glass and silver.
• Ascertain guests’ satisfaction and handle any problem that may arise, informing management of the resolution.
• Follow cash and credit-card procedures according to accounting guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, neat and orderly restaurant throughout service.
• Polish silver, refill salt, pepper, sugar, creamers, etc.
• Ensure the workstation is stocked with appropriate condiments at all times.
• Report any guest comments regarding food and beverage to manager.
• Conscientiously handle and maintain operating equipment.
• Learn and adhere to safety, sanitation and hygiene policies.
• Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and other departments.
• Maintain complete knowledge of all F&B services, outlets and hotel services/features.
• Perform opening/closing side duties as assigned and set all tables according to standards.
• Report to manager any deviations from set standards and procedures.
• Ensure all service and storage areas are kept safe and clean.
• Help minimise waste, neglect, breakages and mishandling of supplies and equipment.
• Carry out light cleaning and maintenance of the outlet.
• Assist other F&B outlets in their operations during peak hours if needed.
