Role Context
The Viaduct Inspector will serve as a key field representative within the metro rail construction supervision team, providing continuous oversight of elevated structural works from initial site preparation through completion and handover. Effective inspection will help ensure the viaduct is built safely, accurately, and in accordance with approved engineering requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect site conditions and confirm suitability before permanent viaduct works proceed.
  • Carry out regular field inspections across active viaduct construction areas.
  • Verify workmanship, materials, and construction activities against approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Inspect major structural elements including beams, columns, piers, supports, and associated components.
  • Confirm structural works comply with applicable engineering standards and approved construction procedures.
  • Monitor construction progress and identify deviations from planned sequencing or approved schedules.
  • Report potential delays, quality concerns, and site constraints to the supervision team.
  • Review construction plans and specifications to understand inspection requirements before work begins.
  • Inspect temporary works and confirm compliance with approved methods and contractual requirements.
  • Check construction materials before and during installation to verify approved quality and suitability.
  • Observe installation activities and ensure completed structural elements match design requirements.
  • Assist with measurement and verification of completed works when requested.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, daily observations, and supporting project documentation.
  • Direct or coordinate other inspectors assigned to relevant structural activities.
  • Monitor inspection performance and help maintain consistent supervision standards.

Ideal Profile

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. A minimum of 4 years of related construction supervision experience is required. Applicants should have direct experience in construction inspection or supervision of major infrastructure projects, particularly bridges, viaducts, elevated structures, or similar works. Previous metro rail project experience is preferred. Candidates should understand structural construction methods, temporary works, quality control processes, material inspection, and field verification requirements. Experience working in Dubai, the wider UAE, or GCC within an engineering consultancy environment will be advantageous. Applicants should be capable of reading structural drawings, specifications, construction plans, and related technical documentation.
