Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced HSE Lead to align HSSE goals with project objectives and enforce compliance with local and international standards.

The ideal candidate will hold a technical Bachelor's or OH&S degree, NEBOSH Diploma, and 14+ years of experience in power/desalination or O&G construction with GCC exposure, including PV projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or OH&S or related field.
• NEBOSH International Diploma and/or nationally recognized certification required.
• GCC experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Align HSSE goals with project objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor compliance with local, national, and international regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with regulatory authorities to ensure safety and environmental adherence.
• Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.
• Lead investigations into HSE incidents and near misses.
• Identify root causes and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Job description

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensure alignment of HSSE goals with project objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with regulatory authorities to ensure project adherence to all safety and environmental requirements.
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
• Lead investigations into HSE incidents, accidents, and near misses.
• Identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and ensure lessons learned are applied to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and implement HSE training programs for project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Promote a strong safety culture and awareness throughout the project.
• Establish emergency response plans and procedures for potential incidents.
• Conduct drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of emergency response measures. Conduct regular site inspections andaudits to verify compliance with safety procedures and regulations.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degreein a technical field or Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety and/or nationally recognized certification
• ≥ 14 years in power/desalination plant, O&G construction
• GCC experience is required.
• Preferable to have PV project experience
