Job summary

Thehseleader is seeking a seasoned HSSE leader in Dubai to align safety objectives with project goals and regulatory requirements. You will oversee regulatory compliance, lead investigations, and drive risk mitigation across power, desalination, and O&G construction projects.

With GCC experience and a Nebosh Diploma, you will design training programs for personnel and subcontractors, foster a strong safety culture, and coordinate with authorities on environmental protections.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or OHS is required.
• NEBOSH Diploma or nationally recognized qualification.
• 14+ years in power/desalination or O&G construction.
• GCC experience is required.
• PV project experience is preferred.

Job description

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensure alignment of HSSE goals with project objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with regulatory authorities to ensure project adherence to all safety and environmental requirements.
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
• Lead investigations into HSE incidents, accidents, and near misses.
• Identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and ensure lessons learned are applied to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and implement HSE training programs for project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Promote a strong safety culture and awareness throughout the project. Establish emergency response plans and procedures for potential incidents.
• Conduct drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of emergency response measures. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety procedures and regulations.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety and/or nationally recognized certification
• ≥ 14 years in power/desalination plant, O&G construction
• GCC experience is required.
• Preferable to have PV project experience
