Job summary

L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering seeks an experienced HSE Lead to align HSSE objectives with project requirements in the UAE. The role focuses on ensuring regulatory compliance across local, national, and international standards, and coordinating with authorities to maintain safety and environmental integrity.

The position involves developing risk mitigation strategies, leading investigations of incidents, and driving lessons learned into practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or nationally recognized certification.
• 10 years in power/desalination plant, O&G construction GCC experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Align HSSE goals with project objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with regulatory authorities to ensure project adherence to safety and environmental requirements.
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
• Lead investigations into HSE incidents, accidents, and near misses.
• Identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and ensure lessons learned are applied to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and implement HSE training programs for project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Promote a strong safety culture and awareness throughout the project.
• Establish emergency response plans and procedures for potential incidents.
• Conduct drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of emergency response measures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
