Job summary

Larsen & Toubro in UAE seeks an experienced HSE Lead to drive safety, health, and environmental standards on large power/desalination/O&G projects. You will ensure alignment with regulations, lead investigations, and develop risk mitigation and training programs for all personnel on site.

GCC experience is required; 10+ years in relevant fields preferred. NEBOSH Diploma holders or equivalent certifications are highly desirable, with PV project exposure seen as a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety and/or nationally recognized certification.
• ≥ 10 years in power/desalination plant, O&G construction.
• GCC experience is required.
• Preferable to have PV project experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure alignment of HSSE goals with project objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with regulatory authorities to ensure project adherence to all safety and environmental requirements.
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
• Lead investigations into HSE incidents, accidents, and near misses.
• Identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and ensure lessons learned are applied to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and implement HSE training programs for project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Promote a strong safety culture and awareness throughout the project.
• Establish emergency response plans and procedures for potential incidents.
• Conduct drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of emergency response measures. Conduct regular site inspections andaudits to verify compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
