Job summary

The Arts Club Dubai in DIFC is seeking an experienced Sommelier to lead wine and sake service, and to enhance the dining experience for members and guests. You will curate the wine list, advise on pairings, maintain cellar standards, and ensure service aligns with the Club’s high standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in same or similar role in luxury hotels or fine dining restaurant.
• Internationally recognized professional certification.
• Excellent level of English, written and spoken.
• Ability to recommend food and wine/sake pairings.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with a high degree of flexibility.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Demonstrate integrity in all dealings and maintain high level of confidentiality.
• Ability to work long shifts and stand for the extended period of time.

Responsibilities

• Assist members and guests with wine and sake selections and serve according to SOPs.
• Provide friendly, courteous and professional service.
• Keep wine/sake lists up to date with vintages and prices; store/display properly.
• Ensure mise-en-place and stock levels are correct and temperature-controlled.
• Monitor glassware and maintain stock in good condition.
• Minimize operating costs through efficient use of resources.
• Display professional salesmanship and proactive selling techniques.

The Arts Club Dubai unveils an amazing opportunity for a talented artisan to join our passionate and creative team. The Sommelier will be responsible for ensuring a smooth running of service for the wine and sake department, and focusing on delivering the maximum members and guests’ satisfaction during dining experience, while taking care that the Club’s highest standards and procedures are adhered to at all times.

What Will You Do

Your main duties and responsibilities are:

• Assist members and guests with their wine or sake selection, and serve wines/sake according to the Standard Operating
• Procedures, while providing friendly, courteous and professional service
• Ensure the wine and sake lists are up to date with correct vintages and prices, and that all products are stored properly in the cellar and on display
• Ensure mise-en-place and correct stock levels are in place before each service, and wines and sake are kept and served a the correct temperature
• Assist with monitoring and managing all glassware to ensure that all stock is maintained in an appropriate condition
• Keep operating costs to a minimum by efficient and responsible use of resources such as glassware and other equipment
• Display professional salesmanship and positive sales techniques at all times
