Senior Wet Utilities Engineer - Water & Sewerage

Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced ARE – Wet Utilities professional to supervise the construction of sewerage, stormwater, potable water and irrigation networks in Al Ain. You will ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, method statements and QA/QC, while coordinating across disciplines and authorities.

Lead site teams, manage stakeholders including TAQA Water Solutions, and ensure safety and timely delivery on a major infrastructure program in the UAE. On-site work model required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 10-15 years of infrastructure project experience, with sewerage and utility works.
• Experience in UAE/GCC and familiarity with TAQA Water Solutions standards.
• Strong knowledge of sewer network construction, testing and approvals.
• Excellent coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction activities for sewerage, stormwater, potable water, irrigation and related networks.
• Review and monitor works against IFC/shop drawings, specs, method statements, material approvals and ITPs.
• Coordinate installation of pipelines, manholes, chambers, culverts, catch basins and pumping facilities.
• Monitor excavation, shoring, dewatering, bedding, pipe laying, jointing, backfilling and compaction.
• Verify pipeline alignments, levels, gradients, invert levels and coordinates with Survey Team.
• Coordinate and witness hydrostatic, leakage, pressure, deflection, flushing, disinfection, CCTV and testing.
• Review RFIs, technical queries, inspection requests and construction submissions.
• Identify utility clashes and interface constraints; coordinate timely resolutions.
• Coordinate with roads, dry utilities, structures, landscaping to avoid conflicts.
• Liaise with Client, Contractor, Design Team and authorities including TAQA Water Solutions.
• Manage and provide technical direction to discipline Engineers, Inspectors and Surveyors.
• Monitor contractor progress, resources, workmanship and construction sequences.
• Identify non-conforming works and coordinate corrective actions with QA/QC and Contractor.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements for excavations, confined spaces and deep utility works.
• Support authority inspections, testing, snagging, handover and close-out submissions.
• Review as-built drawings, testing records and O&M documentation.
