Job summary

AECOM Middle East Ltd in Dubai seeks an experienced Inspector - Wet Utilities to oversee water, sewerage, stormwater, and related utilities during construction. You will verify installations against drawings and specifications, monitor safety, and document inspections.

The role requires strong QA/QC knowledge and coordination with Authorities and clients. The position is on-site in Dubai, with onboarding at an AECOM office and a comprehensive benefits package described in the employment

Qualifications

• 7 years minimum; 5 years in wet utility infrastructure.
• Experience with water, sewerage, stormwater, irrigation, and utility corridors.
• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality, DEWA, RTA and UAE authority requirements is preferred.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, utility profiles, and construction details.
• Experience with QA/QC documentation and inspection reporting.

Responsibilities

• Inspect water transmission and distribution networks, potable water pipelines, irrigation networks, stormwater drainage systems, foul sewer networks, pumping stations, and related structures.
• Verify construction activities against drawings, specifications, method statements and authority requirements.
• Monitor excavation, trenching, pipe laying, bedding, backfilling, manhole construction, and crossings.
• Inspect pipe materials, fittings, valves, manholes, precast structures, and associated works before and during installation.
• Witness testing (pressure, leakage, hydrostatic) and CCTV inspections, flushing, disinfection, and commissioning.
• Review and process Inspection Requests submitted by the Contractor.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain records of activities, tests, and non-conformances.
• Verify compliance with QA/QC procedures and project requirements.
• Monitor Contractor performance and report deficiencies and safety concerns.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineers, Contractors, Authorities, and Client representatives.
• Check that as-built information is maintained and alignments/coordinates meet designs.
• Monitor traffic management, utility protection, and safe excavation practices.
• Support final inspections and project handover activities.
