Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Assistant Resident – Wet Utilities to join our Abu Dhabi team. You will supervise wet utility infrastructure works, including stormwater drainage, sewerage, potable water and related networks, ensuring compliance with drawings, specs and ITPs.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 10+ years of site experience on infrastructure projects, UAE exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10+ Years relevant site experience in infrastructure and wet utilities construction.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering field (i.e. Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Structural etc.)
• Good knowledge of stormwater, sewerage, potable water, irrigation networks, and associated infrastructure works.
• Experience in construction supervision, inspection, quality control, and coordination with Contractors.
• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and technical submissions.
• Experience working on major infrastructure projects is preferred.
• UAE infrastructure and Authority experience is an advantage.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project team and manage multiple site

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor the construction of wet utility infrastructure works, including stormwater drainage, sewerage, potable water, irrigation, and associated networks.
• Oversee construction activities including pipelines, manholes, catch basins, gullies, culverts, drainage structures, and related works.
• Ensure construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and project requirements.
• Review Contractor submissions, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, inspection requests, and other technical documents.
• Monitor site progress, quality, workmanship, and compliance with approved project requirements.
• Coordinate with the Contractor, Authorities, stakeholders, and other disciplines to resolve technical and construction-related issues.
• Monitor testing and inspection of wet utility networks and ensure all required inspections and approvals are completed.
• Identify technical issues, construction risks, and potential delays and coordinate with the project team to implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Coordinate interfaces between wet utilities and other infrastructure elements, including roads, structures, electrical, telecom, landscaping, and other services.
• Review site conditions and proposed construction solutions and provide technical recommendations where required.
• Monitor the Contractor’s compliance with approved construction methodologies, ITPs, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Maintain proper records of site inspections, progress, technical issues, RFIs, and construction activities.
• Participate in site meetings, progress meetings, technical discussions, and coordination meetings with the Contractor and relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure that health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements are properly implemented on site.
