Overview
Senior Specialist - Supply Chain Automation in Dubai is a regional hiring opportunity within the Logistics and Supply Chain industry for an experienced transformation professional. The role will convert manual planning, supplier management, inventory, and distribution centre workflows into scalable automation solutions, integrated systems, and advanced analytics across MENA markets.
The Senior Specialist will lead regional initiatives that improve productivity, data visibility, decision-making, and operational consistency across demand planning, replenishment, supplier performance, inventory management, and distribution centre operations. Acting as the link between local market teams, regional leadership, and central Product, Data, and Engineering functions, the specialist will translate business problems into automation roadmaps, analytics products, system integrations, and repeatable operating frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the regional supply chain automation roadmap across MENA markets.
- Design scalable solutions for demand planning, replenishment, supplier management, inventory control, and distribution centre operations.
- Develop automation frameworks that can be deployed across several countries with limited local customization.
- Identify operational bottlenecks, repetitive tasks, and process gaps that reduce productivity.
- Automate supplier communication, purchase order follow-ups, exception handling, and routine reporting.
- Convert successful local-market solutions into standardized regional processes and tools.
- Establish governance procedures for automation adoption, ownership, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Act as the primary regional partner for central Product, Data, Technology, and Engineering teams.
- Align regional automation priorities with the wider supply chain product and technology roadmap.
- Gather operational requirements and translate them into clear product specifications and user stories.
- Lead testing, validation, implementation, and regional rollout of central supply chain tools.
- Support the integration and adoption of platforms such as IDP and Supplier Central.
- Provide structured feedback to central teams based on operational data, user experience, and process performance.
- Build and maintain data pipelines using SQL, BigQuery, Python, and related technologies.
- Create automated dashboards, alerts, and reporting products for supply chain decision-making.
- Track fill rate, product availability, service levels, inventory health, and stock transfers.
- Monitor supplier performance, forecast accuracy, distribution centre capacity, and utilization.
- Develop analytical products that identify exceptions, risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Build lightweight applications and API-based integrations between operational systems and communication tools.
- Use cloud platforms, workflow automation software, and AI-enabled tools to improve visibility and productivity.
- Support automation initiatives across receiving, inventory control, stock transfers, labour planning, and capacity management.
- Develop real-time distribution centre alerts and operational visibility tools.
- Standardize distribution centre performance indicators and reporting practices across markets.
- Coordinate product launches, pilot programmes, testing cycles, and go-to-market activities.
- Measure automation impact through time savings, adoption rates, service improvement, and operational performance.
- Maintain clear technical documentation, process maps, governance records, and implementation guidance.
- Communicate priorities, progress, risks, and recommendations to regional and senior stakeholders.
Ideal Profile
- Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Data, Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in a fast-paced FMCG, CPG, retail, consulting, or supply chain technology environment.
- Strong experience delivering supply chain automation, product, transformation, or analytics initiatives.
- Between 3 and 4 years of practical experience using mature ERP or warehouse management systems.
- Working knowledge of SAP, Oracle, JDA, or comparable enterprise platforms.
- Advanced experience with SQL, BigQuery, EDI integrations, or related data technologies.
- Strong Python capability for automation, analytics, or data pipeline development.
- Demonstrated success delivering product roadmaps, product launches, automation programmes, or regional technology rollouts.
- Experience translating operational requirements into product specifications and scalable solutions.
- Strong understanding of demand planning, replenishment, inventory management, supplier operations, and distribution centres.
- Familiarity with API integrations, cloud services, workflow automation, and AI-enabled tools.
- Knowledge of AI models and their supply chain applications is advantageous.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, Data Studio, Tableau, or similar analytical tools.
- Highly organized, process-driven, and comfortable managing several regional initiatives.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, 5S, or continuous improvement methods is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving ability supported by analytical and process-oriented thinking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication across technical, operational, and senior leadership audiences.
- Ability to influence stakeholders across markets without relying on direct authority.
