Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support construction cost management on projects in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role covers quantity measurement, cost estimation, tender documentation, and contract administration, with emphasis on cost control and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

The successful candidate will review contractor payments, manage variations and claims, and coordinate with project teams to ensure accurate commercial documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in quantity surveying or construction cost management.
• Strong knowledge of construction measurement methods and quantity take-off procedures.
• Practical experience preparing Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, and tender documents.
• Understanding of construction contracts and commercial administration.
• Experience reviewing contractor quotations, payment applications, and interim valuations.
• Ability to assess construction variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Experience monitoring project costs, budgets, and expenditure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying or estimating software.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
• Good analytical, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Quantity Measurement and Cost Estimation: Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings and prepare BOQs and cost estimates.
• Tender Documentation and Commercial Review: Compile tender data and review quotations and contracts.
• Project Cost Monitoring and Budget Control: Track costs, variations, and expenditure; generate cost reports.
• Contractor Payments and Interim Valuations: Review payment apps and conduct interim valuations.
• Variations, Claims and Final Accounts: Assess changes, claims, and final accounts.
• Site Measurement and Construction Verification: Perform site measurements to verify quantities and progress.
• Commercial Reporting and Documentation: Maintain cost records and provide financial reporting.
• Project Coordination and Contract Compliance: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure contractual compliance.
