Role Context The Senior Project Engineer - Project Execution provides the technical coordination needed to move complex oil and gas projects from early definition through final operational handover. The position connects engineering disciplines, Central Engineering, operations teams, consultants, PMC organizations, EPC contractors, licensors, vendors and third parties while maintaining alignment with approved project objectives. Success in this position depends on identifying engineering and execution risks early, challenging weak assumptions, resolving multidisciplinary interfaces and keeping technical deliverables aligned with schedule, cost, quality and safety requirements. The engineer also supports project governance through ADNOC Value Assurance Process reviews and ensures that facilities are technically complete and operationally ready before handover.
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor 's degree in Engineering and have at least 8 years of project engineering experience within the oil and gas industry. Candidates should demonstrate strong experience managing multidisciplinary project engineering activities across FEED, detailed design, construction and commissioning phases. A solid understanding of EPC project execution is essential, including contractor management, engineering deliverable review, construction coordination and commissioning preparation. Experience working with project governance and value assurance frameworks will be valuable, particularly where projects are subject to formal stage reviews, technical assurance and investment controls. The position requires the ability to recognize engineering risks before they affect construction or commissioning and to develop practical mitigation strategies with contractors and internal stakeholders. Strong coordination skills are essential because the engineer will routinely manage interfaces between Engineering, Projects, Operations, contractors, consultants, licensors and vendors. Candidates should be confident reviewing technical documentation, challenging contractor proposals and communicating project concerns clearly to multidisciplinary teams and management.
This position provides the opportunity to influence major energy projects from initial technical definition through construction and operational handover. The role offers broad exposure to engineering design, contractor management, project controls, commissioning and operations while maintaining direct involvement in the decisions that affect project safety, cost, quality and schedule.
