Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical input during feasibility, proposal and conceptual development stages for major engineering projects.

  • Coordinate engineering design activities, material specifications and technical requirements across multiple disciplines.
  • Direct projects through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, start-up and final handover.
  • Manage Project Management Consultants and ensure effective project administration, engineering coordination and site supervision.
  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams supporting major plant, facility and infrastructure developments.
  • Develop execution strategies that address technical complexity, project interfaces, construction requirements and operating constraints.
  • Manage international consultants, contractors and specialist service providers throughout project delivery.
  • Ensure project execution complies with approved HSE requirements, technical standards, procedures and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain control of project schedules, budgets, scope and performance against established objectives.
  • Provide management with accurate reporting on progress, cost, major risks, technical issues and corrective actions.
  • Review applicable engineering codes, industry practices and international standards and ensure their correct implementation.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders, shareholders, operating teams and technical authorities where project interfaces require alignment.
  • Review technical source information and participate in meetings to establish future development requirements.
  • Assess project alternatives based on technical feasibility, expected cost, operational impact and implementation requirements.

  • Ensure approved project plans, budgets and schedules are updated following authorized changes.
  • Evaluate contractor performance and take corrective action when execution deviates from agreed requirements.
  • Provide technical and management guidance to project teams when complex engineering or contractual issues arise.
  • Lead or participate in divisional and companywide committees requiring project engineering expertise.
  • Develop project-specific safety programs and ensure contractors comply with applicable company safety requirements.
  • Audit project HSE performance and initiate remedial actions where deficiencies are identified.
  • Support commissioning and start-up teams to ensure completed facilities are technically ready for safe operation.
  • Ensure final project documentation, outstanding work and handover obligations are completed before project closure.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or an equivalent recognized engineering qualification.
  • Minimum 12 years of professional experience in project engineering or project execution within the Oil and Gas industry.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading multidisciplinary engineering personnel, consultants and contractors.
  • Proven background delivering major Oil and Gas projects from concept through commissioning and start-up.
  • Project Management Professional certification is required.
  • Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning project phases.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing large consultants and multinational contracting organizations.
  • Sound knowledge of contract administration, tendering and contractor prequalification processes.
