This position will monitor engineering quality, execution progress, costs and contractor interfaces while applying Value Assurance Process requirements. Early identification of design or construction constraints will help prevent delays and support an orderly transition into operation.
Key Responsibilities
- The Project Engineer will provide technical coordination and execution support across an assigned portfolio.
- Support project activities from concept definition to commissioning and final handover.
- Contribute to Statements of Requirements and project execution strategies.
- Assist with tender documentation for engineering and project-delivery services.
- Participate in technical evaluations of consultants, Project Management Consultants and EPC contractors.
- Review contractor engineering deliverables against approved scope and specifications.
- Assess construction strategies, work methods and execution plans.
- Monitor engineering, procurement and construction progress against project milestones.
- Identify potential bottlenecks and recommend practical corrective action.
- Participate in value-engineering studies and constructability reviews.
- Support technical workshops and project-assurance sessions.
- Coordinate with licensors, contractors, vendors and internal engineering stakeholders.
- Participate in project meetings, design reviews and technical discussions.
- Maintain alignment between Engineering, Operations and Project teams.
- Monitor contractor performance and verify progress against agreed deliverables.
- Review invoices and project expenditure in coordination with cost-control teams.
- Evaluate contractor claims and provide information for commercial negotiations.
- Support contract close-out and confirmation of outstanding obligations.
- Track project variations, emerging risks and trends affecting cost or schedule.
- Facilitate technical risk analysis, PHSER and ATR reviews.
- Confirm compliance with ADNOC engineering, safety and quality requirements.
- Support the implementation of HSE controls throughout engineering and execution.
- Maintain accurate project correspondence, records and technical documentation.
- Compile progress information and assist with management reporting.
- Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning requirements with contractors and operations.
- Review commissioning procedures, readiness plans and supporting documents.
- Monitor punch-list closure and completion of remaining construction activities.
- Verify that commissioning deliverables are completed before facility transfer.
- Facilitate formal handover to Operations and provide support during plant start-up.
- Develop a clear understanding of the project portfolio, engineering scope and contractor interfaces.
- Promote timely issue resolution across engineering, procurement and field-execution teams.
Ideal Profile
- Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and possess at least six years of project-management experience within the oil and gas industry.
- The role requires experience supporting multidisciplinary projects, reviewing contractor deliverables and monitoring technical execution.
- Applicants should demonstrate strong coordination, risk identification, quality-assurance and reporting capabilities while working effectively with engineering, project and operations teams.
