ADNOC Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Project Engineer to drive delivery across concept to commissioning. You will coordinate across engineering disciplines, contractors and operations to keep scope, schedule, cost and quality aligned.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support project delivery from concept through handover.
  • Prepare requirements and tender inputs for assigned projects.
  • Assist to develop project execution strategies reflecting scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Review technical inputs for tender documentation.
  • Evaluate engineering consultants, PMCs and EPC contractors.
  • Review contractor deliverables for compliance with project specs.
  • Assess proposed construction strategies before field execution.
  • Track progress against milestones for engineering, procurement and construction.

  • Support value engineering to improve technical and commercial efficiency.

Role Context

The Project Engineer supports the structured delivery of assigned projects by coordinating engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning interfaces from early development through operational handover. The role works across technical disciplines, Central Engineering, contractors, licensors, vendors and Operations to keep engineering activities aligned with approved scope, schedule, quality and cost objectives. Early identification of technical constraints and close follow-up of deliverables help reduce execution delays and improve overall project readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support project delivery activities from concept and FEED through detailed engineering, construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Contribute to the preparation and refinement of Statements of Requirement for assigned projects.
  • Assist in developing project execution strategies that reflect technical scope, schedule, cost and operational requirements.
  • Prepare and review technical inputs for tender documentation.
  • Participate in the evaluation of engineering consultants, Project Management Consultants and EPC contractors.
  • Review contractor engineering deliverables for compliance with approved project specifications and scope.
  • Assess proposed construction strategies and methodologies before field execution.
  • Track engineering, procurement and construction progress against planned milestones.
  • Identify emerging bottlenecks and recommend practical corrective actions before they affect key project dates.
  • Support value engineering exercises aimed at improving technical and commercial efficiency.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and multidisciplinary project workshops.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces involving licensors, contractors, vendors and internal engineering disciplines.
  • Attend project meetings, design reviews and technical coordination sessions.
  • Help maintain alignment between Engineering, Operations and Project teams throughout execution.
  • Monitor contractor performance and follow up outstanding technical deliverables.
  • Coordinate with cost control personnel to review invoices and project expenditure.

  • Assist with contract close-out activities and resolution of outstanding commercial or technical matters.

  • Maintain visibility of engineering risks, project trends and interface issues requiring management attention.
  • Facilitate project risk analysis and support PHSER and ATR reviews in accordance with ADNOC procedures.
  • Verify compliance with applicable safety, quality and engineering requirements.
  • Support implementation of project HSE controls during engineering, construction and commissioning activities.
  • Maintain accurate project records, technical correspondence and supporting documentation.
  • Compile close-out documentation and ensure required project records are properly completed.
  • Provide reliable progress information for management reporting.
  • Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities with contractors and Operations teams.
  • Review commissioning procedures, readiness plans and associated technical documentation.
  • Follow punch list closure and verify completion of outstanding construction and commissioning items.
  • Facilitate transfer of completed facilities to Operations.
  • Support start-up readiness and early operational activities following project handover.
  • Develop a clear understanding of assigned project portfolios, engineering scope and contractor interfaces.
  • Strengthen coordination between engineering, procurement and execution teams to improve delivery efficiency.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 6 years of project engineering experience within the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Practical experience supporting multidisciplinary projects through several phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
  • Ability to monitor contractor progress and technical deliverables effectively.
