Role Context The Senior Project Engineer acts as the operational and technical interface between field operations, engineering teams, project functions, contractors, technical authorities, and asset stakeholders during implementation of MOC minor schemes and field development projects. The position provides oversight from planning and constructability review through construction, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, handover, and closeout. A key responsibility is ensuring project solutions reflect existing field operating philosophy, established work practices, asset constraints, HSE requirements, and practical operating experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, direct, and supervise assigned personnel involved in MOC minor scheme construction and project coordination activities.
  • Exercise assigned supervisory and financial authority in accordance with approved organizational requirements.
  • Review project planning packages and identify schedule risks, execution constraints, technical gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop project execution strategies with site teams in accordance with approved project execution standards.
  • Identify constructability issues at an early stage and coordinate practical solutions before field implementation.
  • Assess HSE-critical construction activities and ensure appropriate controls are established before work begins.
  • Review contractor Inspection Test Plans, method statements, mechanical completion documentation, and ready-for-commissioning dossiers.
  • Coordinate contractor submittal reviews with relevant technical authorities and verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor contractor progress against approved schedules and address emerging execution delays or constraints.
  • Participate in regular contractor progress meetings and verify the accuracy of submitted progress reports.
  • Review contractor material approval requests against approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Verify that materials delivered to site comply with approved technical specifications and documentation.
  • Enforce contractor adherence to ADNOC Onshore HSE policies and procedures throughout construction and handover.
  • Conduct site visits and audits to verify implementation of safety assurance requirements.
  • Accompany contractors during field surveys to establish work scope, physical conditions, access requirements, and interfaces with existing facilities.
  • Attend Requests for Inspection raised by contractors and verify completed work against QA/QC requirements, Scope of Work, specifications, and approved Inspection Test Plans.
  • Coordinate resolution and closure of construction quality issues and outstanding inspection items.
  • Conduct final facility walk-downs with contractors and end users before handover.
  • Verify closure of punch-list and outstanding items before final acceptance.
  • Maintain schedules covering field development activities, engineering projects, and plant modifications.
  • Keep site operations informed of planned project and modification activities affecting operating facilities.
  • Provide coordinated field operations input throughout conceptual studies, project identification, engineering, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Participate in project meetings and represent assigned field requirements to company organizations and contractors.
  • Present progress, operational requirements, interface constraints, and field concerns to relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate field reviews of engineering designs, operating procedures, construction plans, and commissioning documentation.
  • Ensure project designs incorporate field operating philosophy, established work practices, lessons learned, and operating experience.
  • Track individual field deliverables contributing to project plans and ensure completion within required schedules.
  • Facilitate technical and economic evaluation of minor field-sponsored projects and plant modification proposals.
  • Support plant performance reviews and improvement proposals before submission for management approval.
  • Receive and coordinate physical completion certification for site-installed modifications and new facilities.
  • Coordinate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities between projects, contractors, engineering teams, and field operations.
  • Manage project handover and closeout activities and verify that required records are complete.
  • Ensure as-built drawings accurately reflect installed facilities and modifications.
  • Establish and manage interfaces between Asset Divisions, master planning functions, corporate teams, and external projects interacting with asset facilities.
  • Coordinate new well tie-in activities required to support asset business plans and production targets.
  • Facilitate the Asset Management of Change coordination function for plant and field modifications.
Ideal Profile

The successful candidate should hold a Bachelor 's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline and have at least 8 years of experience in a similar role within the oil and gas industry. Strong practical experience in brownfield projects, MOC schemes, construction supervision, mechanical completion, commissioning, field modifications, and operational interfaces is highly relevant. Candidates should understand the complete project lifecycle from conceptual development and engineering through construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, handover, and closeout. Experience reviewing Inspection Test Plans, method statements, contractor submittals, material approvals, Requests for Inspection, mechanical completion dossiers, commissioning documentation, and as-built drawings is important. The position requires effective coordination with operations, engineering, construction, QA/QC, HSE, planning, contractors, technical authorities, and asset management teams while working around live oil and gas facilities.
