Role Context

The Senior Planning Engineer – Claims will provide specialist programme management and delay analysis support across major construction projects. The position requires a detailed understanding of work scope, construction sequencing, procurement activities, contractor programmes, and contractual completion requirements. The engineer will assess actual progress against approved baselines, identify emerging delay events, evaluate critical path impacts, and advise the Project Lead on recovery measures. The role will also support the review of contractor claims, variations, extension‑of‑time submissions, and dispute resolution matters through accurate records and technically sound schedule analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project scope, quantities, construction methodology, and the logical sequencing of multidisciplinary works.
• Examine contractor, subcontractor, procurement, and utility programmes using Critical Path Method analysis.
• Assess baseline schedules for completeness, logic, resources, calendars, constraints, milestones, and contractual compliance.
• Work closely with contractor planning teams to monitor, update, and where necessary revise approved construction programmes.
• Compare actual site progress with planned progress and identify deviations affecting critical and near‑critical activities.
• Prepare weekly and monthly programme reports, progress graphs, dashboards, milestone reviews, and critical path narratives.
• Advise the Project Lead of schedule risks, emerging opportunities, programme weaknesses, and recommended mitigation measures.
