Job summary

GSSTech Group in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Senior Oracle Database Engineer to optimize performance, manage RAC/Dataguard, and support OCI and AWS deployments across projects.

You will automate DBA tasks with Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform and Groovy, write Bash and Python scripts, and work within Agile teams across multiple concurrent initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Oracle DBA experience in large organizations.
• Hands-on RAC, Dataguard, RMAN and OEM expertise.
• Experience with OCI and AWS environments, and scripting in Bash/Python.
• Familiarity with database patching, performance tuning and migrations.
• Working knowledge of Agile practices and automation tooling.

Responsibilities

• Administer Oracle databases across production and non-production environments.
• Own end-to-end SQL and database performance tuning.
• Manage high-availability architecture including RAC and Dataguard.
• Execute RMAN backup and recovery; handle patching and upgrades.
• Automate recurring tasks with Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform and Groovy.
• Write Bash/Python scripts to support operations; collaborate in Agile teams.

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Oracle Database Engineer to support enterprise technology projects with a strong focus on Oracle performance tuning and DBA automation. This role sits within a fast paced delivery environment, working across multiple projects concurrently, and requires resilience under pressure including occasional out of hours and weekend support

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Oracle databases across production and non production environments
• Own end to end performance tuning at SQL and database level
• Manage high availability architecture including Real Application Clusters (RAC) and Oracle Dataguard
• Execute backup and recovery operations using Recovery Manager (RMAN)
• Handle database patching cycles and version upgrades
• Administer environments through Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
• Operate and support databases across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS
• Automate recurring DBA tasks using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform and Groovy
• Lead or support database migration projects
• Write and maintain scripts in Bash and Python to support operational efficiency
• Work within Agile delivery teams, collaborating across multiple simultaneous projects
• Provide production support during out of hours and weekends as required

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
• 8+ years of Oracle DBA experience in large organizations
• Excellent hands on knowledge of Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)
• Excellent hands on knowledge of Oracle Dataguard
• Excellent hands on knowledge of RMAN
