Job summary

Global Software Solutions Group seeks a Senior Oracle Database Engineer to support enterprise projects with a focus on performance tuning and DBA automation. The role involves working across multiple projects, requiring resilience and occasional after-hours support.

You will administer production and non-production databases, tune SQL and database performance, and manage RAC, Dataguard, and RMAN operations while leveraging OCI/AWS and OEM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of Oracle DBA experience in large organizations.
• Hands-on knowledge of Oracle RAC.
• Hands-on knowledge of Oracle Dataguard.
• Hands-on knowledge of RMAN.
• Hands-on knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Knowledge of database patching processes.
• Knowledge of SQL and database performance tuning.
• Knowledge of database migration methodologies.
• Knowledge of OCI and AWS.
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of Agile working practices.
• Knowledge of scripting languages Bash and Python.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Oracle databases across production and non production environments.
• Own end to end performance tuning at SQL and database level.
• Manage high availability architecture including RAC and Dataguard.
• Execute backup and recovery operations using RMAN.
• Handle database patching cycles and version upgrades.
• Administer environments through OEM.
• Operate and support databases across OCI and AWS.
• Automate recurring DBA tasks using Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform and Groovy.
• Lead or support database migration projects.
• Write and maintain Bash and Python scripts to support operational efficiency.
• Work within Agile delivery teams across multiple projects.
• Provide production support during out of hours and weekends as required.
