Job summary

GSSTech Group in Dubai is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Engineer to lead enterprise Oracle environments, driving availability, performance, and automation across OCI/AWS. The role requires hands-on experience with RAC, Data Guard, OEM, RMAN, patching, and migration in large-scale deployments.

The ideal candidate will design and maintain resilient databases, perform advanced tuning, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery and production stability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of hands-on Oracle DB Admin/Engineering in large enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, Data Guard, OEM, RMAN, and patching.
• Experience with OCI and AWS cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in SQL/PLSQL and Unix/Linux.
• Scripting in Bash and Python; automation using Ansible or similar.
• Experience in migrating databases with minimal downtime.
• Experience in performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience in Agile delivery and cross-functional collaboration.
• Bachelor’s degree as stated.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level Oracle database administration and engineering support for technology projects and enterprise platforms.
• Design, implement, maintain, and support highly available and resilient Oracle database environments.
• Perform advanced Oracle database performance tuning, including SQL tuning, database tuning, workload analysis, and performance optimization.
• Administer and support Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) environments.
• Administer and support Oracle Data Guard environments for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Manage Oracle databases across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and AWS environments.
• Monitor and manage database environments using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Perform database backup, recovery, and restore activities using Oracle RMAN.
• Plan and execute Oracle database patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• Perform database migrations across environments and platforms while ensuring minimal business disruption.
