Job summary

Global Software Solutions Group in Dubai is seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Engineer to manage Oracle Database Administration, performance tuning, high availability and DR across large enterprise platforms. The role covers RAC, Data Guard, OCI and AWS, OEM, RMAN, patching and migrations, with automation using Ansible, Git, Jenkins, Groovy, Terraform, Bash and Python.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Oracle Database Administration / Engineering in large enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle RAC
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Data Guard
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and RMAN
• Experience in database patching and performance tuning
• Experience migrating Oracle databases across environments

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level Oracle database administration and engineering support for technology projects and enterprise platforms
• Design, implement, maintain, and support highly available and resilient Oracle database environments
• Perform advanced Oracle database performance tuning, including SQL tuning, workload analysis, and performance optimization
• Administer and support Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) environments
• Administer and support Oracle Data Guard environments for high availability and disaster recovery
• Manage Oracle databases across OCI and AWS environments
• Monitor and manage database environments using OEM
• Perform database backup, recovery, and restore activities using RMAN
• Plan and execute Oracle database patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities
• Perform database migrations across environments and platforms while ensuring minimal business disruption
• Analyze and resolve complex database performance, availability, and production issues
• Develop and maintain database administration standards, procedures, and documentation
• Support multiple technology projects and database initiatives concurrently
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, cloud, security, development, and technology teams to support project delivery
• Participate in incident management, root-cause analysis, problem management, and production support activities
• Automate repetitive Oracle DBA activities and operational processes using modern automation technologies
• Identify opportunities to improve database administration efficiency through scripting, automation, and DevOps practices
• Participate in Agile delivery practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
